Canada's West Coast and Vancouver Island

Adventure and hiking tours with camping or hotels to Canada's west coast and Vancouver Island in British Columbia - from Calgary to Vancouver, Victoria and Whistler.

Canada's west coast and Vancouver IslandBC will take your breath away with its fresh, dynamic and outdoorsy way of life!

It’s a place of big ideas, where the word "impossible" has been all but stricken from the dictionary. British Columbians are understandably proud of their stunningly beautiful province and their unique lifestyle in tiny fishing outposts and ancient Native settlements and vibrant modern cities like Whistler, Victoria or Vancouver.

The rugged Coastal Mountains with fjords reaching deep into the mainland and a maze of islands typify the northern part of west coast. A great way to experience this coastal wonderland is on one of BC Ferries’ scheduled cruises like the famous Inside Passage between Prince Rupert and Port Hardy or the Discovery Cost Passage between Bella Coola and Port Hardy.

Vancouver Island, west coast, CanadaAt 460 kilometres in length, Vancouver Island is almost as long as Ireland.

The Island is 65 km (40 mi) at its narrowest and 97 km (60 mi) at its widest points with a total area of 31,284 sqkm (12,087 square miles). The Island also boasts 3,440 km (2137 miles) of pristine coastline.

A large mountain spine runs almost the entire length of the Island and breaks up into long mountain fjords along its West Coast. Strathcona Provincial Park, located in the center of the Island offers beautiful campgrounds and a large choice of hiking trails.

Vancouver Island boasts the warmest climate in Canada with winter temperatures rarely falling below zero and summer temperatures averaging 25° C ( 77° F).  The overall summer climate on Vancouver Island is often compared to the summers in the Mediterranean region.

The magnificent Pacific Rim National Park provides protection for substantial rain forests and an amazing marine environment on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The full force of the mighty Pacific Ocean mercilessly pounds the constantly changing shores of this rugged coastline.

Wonderful places to stay, interesting river with rapids and excellent leaders. Very good mixture of different meals!

It was the perfect mix of fun and challenge: learning how to steer and understand the river, it helped develop condfidence and has given me and my dad really brilliant memories (I hope for him too).
